all blurred with rain, Japanese
sushi girl in a black shirt, red
apron, & bright blue scarf
covering her hair

9th (Friday)   [East of Hudson]
Finished the Newton book

10th (Saturday)   [East of Hudson]
Clark & 1st, the skyline in a wet
grey haze. On the bus a Chinese
girl asleep beside her grandmother
Enjoyable talk with Hiroko, she
wondered what types of trees were
blossoming outside, the pink ones
She thought they might be plum, I
couldn't say for sure they were
cherry

11th (Sunday)   [East of Hudson]
Dark, steady rain all day. Showed
Hiroko 'Seahorse as a Nebula'
She was charming, thought seahorses
had a 'mysterious' quality, &
remembered that her grandmother
had them in her house. 'For
medicine?' (like the Chinese, I
was thinking) 'For decoration,'
she told me

12th (Monday)   [East of Hudson]
Talking to Bob this morning, who
had a long description of a 9/11
conspiracy theory, which ranged
from insurance fraud to concrete
penetrating missiles

13th (Tuesday)
A lovely silvery spring shower
along Davie this afternoon, &
then the sun broke through, though
it was chilly

14th (Wednesday)
Talked with Reena, who was
looking good as always. Describing
Indian fashions, her friends
wedding dress, & 'Indian shopping'
'Indian shopping?' I asked
'What's that?'

17th (Saturday)
Hiroko asked if I could photograph
her artwork. Final stages of
website preparation. Heavy rain
Talked with Melinda this morning,
& Hanna this afternoon on Robson,
near Safeway. Her daughter is
engaged to a Mexican
