Texted Myle from Royal Centre. 'There
was a huge spider crawling around my
tub this morning! :( I called 911!!'
She texted back, 'Lol'. Texted Eve
from Davie Subway, saying I was looking
forward to seeing her next drawing
'Haha was just starting to plan it.'

Talking to Myle for an hour during the
Masters broadcast, which was a lot of
fun. Texts from Eve, who was having
problems with the portrait she started,
which was on a wood panel. Some nice
drama from Augusta, won by Scott in a
playoff with Cabrerra
15th (Monday) [Girl from Taipei]
Gave Yumi the collages in the cafe at
Market Place. Told me when Japanese see
sunshine through falling rain they
believe the wedding ceremony of a fox
is happening somewhere. Told her about
seeing Minori on that occasion on
Burrard, with the blue umbrella. Persian
girl at the bank named Sara, wrote
'seahorse' in Farci, between the Spanish
& Ethiopian language, on the back of the
print

Bidwell a lovely canvas of spring
colours : pinks, greens, reddish-browns,
radiant in the bright sun

Text from Myle this morning, 'I had a
very long day yesterday.' Telling me on
the phone later about her karaoke party
with some Sears girls, including
Bianca, & drinking 'brown wine'

Yumi telling me she's never seen a
waterfall in Japan. Her last day at
Market Place. Back in the old chair at
Sinclair this afternoon, nice jazz
playing & rain flowing over the glass
roof. Text from Myle, 'I bought my
vacuum!!

Some intense drama out of Boston today

Quiet, cool, overcast. Text from Eve
about her drawing, 'It's finished but
not what I had hoped for.'

Sun, rain, hail, & sun again, with a cold
breeze. Dropped in on Reanne, who wrote
'The Gallery Basement' in her elegant
printing, to use as a link to a future
section on the website
22nd (Monday)
Eating cake with Yumi in the Urban Fare
cafe at Shangri-La. Wonderful girl! Same
age as Reanne, born in 1984. Her last
week here before returning to Japan,
where she hopes to find work in Tokyo
Told me to make sure I emailed her, one
last little hug at Alberni & Burrard, &
then she was gone. Hoping we'll be
meeting again. Sunny & warm
24th (Wednesday)
Late lunch with Eve at a tiny Japanese
restaurant on Denman, enjoying a large
bowl of miso ramen. Long walk through
Stanley Park, past Beaver Lake,
collecting small samples of moss for
her apt with two silver spoons. From
Beaver Lake walked all the way to Opus
in the Dominion Bldg. Helping her to
choose some paper for a drawing she's
planning of polka dot pigs with two
evil twins. Texted Myle about the
ramen. She texted back, 'That place u
went to is famous for their ramen.'
