Hi Richard, how're doing?
This is my very first being portrayed! Wow, this is me. And my glasses,
my hoodie, and my (favourite) scarf! Speaking of the colour, I agree
with your friend from Shanghai. I found the faint pink in grayish background
fascinating, on my cheek, lips and scarf.
I just looked up the novel King Rat. It looks so interesting I would love to
read it sometime after I finish my current book called Screenplay by Syd
Field. I really like the shininess on her skin, for instance the one around
her nose, and the softness on her arms.
We had a record snow in February, which piled up more than 30cm!
According to the news, it was the heaviest in the past decade. I am
sending you a photo of a work of snow. SHWATCH!
Hope no harsh weather comes to town any more and spring comes ASAP :)

4th (Tuesday)
Myle in better spirits. Going to try the procedure
again at a different clinic & is thinking of applying
at a clinic near Seattle. Enjoyable banter with Errly,
at Marketplace. Gave the 'New West' girl at LD the
little bag of jellybeans. She was startled at how
pink my hands were from the cold, & put her hand on
top of mine to feel just how cold they were. Charming
girl, said her birthday was on the 25th. Finished the
'Midway' book, the same paperback I read when I was 14
5th (Wednesday) [Portrait of Yumi Takei]
Talking to Myle as she was digging into a family size
bag of ketchup flavoured Lays chips. Said she likes
to lick clean the reddest ones, & leave the rest. Deep
freeze continues
6th (Thursday) [Portrait of Yumi Takei]
Myle called after lunch, & had a nice conversation
with Susan this afternoon
10th (Monday) [Portrait of Yumi Takei]
Telling Erlly that I was finishing the portrait. Said
that she was going to email Yumi to let her know. Talking
to Myle who was having organic salad for lunch. that she
purchased in Bellingham. Warmer, with rain this evening
11th (Tuesday) [Portrait of Yumi Takei]
While at Sinclair Myle called saying she was in the
parkade at Holts, waiting for her friend who was
upstairs buying things for her at 50% discount. Showing
Reanne the Marie Umeki portrait, & explaining the
meaning of 'King Rat' which she wondered about. Liked
the 'Lance' pastel, expecially the 'Live Corrupt' phrase
At one point she suddenly said, 'Was Feb 6 your birthday?'
Working on the webpages for the portrait, adding 3 pages
of collage photos I took last April. Dropped in on
Aarathi, who seems almost ready to be photographed for
the drawing
13th (Thursday)
Myle called after 10:30 saying she was upstairs at
Holt shopping with her friend! Talking to her this
afternoon & again in the evening when she texted me
with photos of the shirts she bought. Asked her if she
knew who Ringo was. 'A dog?' she replied. Describing
her bad experiences in the countryside in Vietnam,
including excrement-eating fish & how people there
used a handful of leaves to wipe their rear ends
14th (Friday)
Myle texted a photo of 2 candy box hearts, saying
'Happy Valentine's Day'. Erlly looked quite nice in a
bright-coloured shirt, & looking forward to seeing the
portrait. A guy playing sitar on Granville, the pavement
wet from a brief shower, under skies alternating dark
grey clouds & ragged patches of blue sky. A little
farther along the guy with the loud mike 'singing'
some valentine message. Text from Eve who is still
unpacking, but almost done. Met Stan on Davie, who
returned home early due to a sickness in the family
