street, like the day, had a
lonley quality that almost felt
evil

machine, did I know a golfer,

for her crossword

Met Vivian at The Bay, going
to Mexico next week

Shab telling me she's giving
up 'boring' realism, & going
back to abstraction: met Laura
at the top of the escalator,
told me she's had a very
productive 2 months: Myle
curious to know what the
portrait looks like: Persia
too busy to talk, but said
she's 'happy': Megumi showed
me her photos; her friend &
her think that half the
portrait of her face looks
like her, & the other doesn't

Asking Myle if she wanted to
look like a comic book heroine
in the drawing. Told me
'something like Pamela Anderson'

Met Donna M at Granville &
Hastings. Working in Park Place
in a law firm library, &
expecting a child in Sept. Shab
describing a painting she worked
on at Emily Carr from 3 to 6
Warm & clear again. Susan called
tonight, problems with her
German neighbour

Showed Myle the portrait. She
liked everything 'except the
face', specifically the hair
(bump), eyebrows, nose (too
big), mouth & basic profile
I'm not allowed to show it to
anyone at Sears or Shiseido -
(Ha!) Told her: 'You are SO
funny!'
