20th (Friday)
High overcast, muggy grey. Myle telling me how
much she hates the pink dress she's expected to
wear to a wedding next week. Brought her two
shrimp salad rolls & a pineapple smoothie from
Joyeaux. Belraj with dark eye makeup, reminded
me of a certain drawing of Krishna's wife
Baeta telling me she checked the website. She,
and an artist friend of hers were impressed
with the portraits
21st (Saturday)
Met three charming Filipino girls this
evening, at Victoria's. They offered to
show me around the Philippines, & one of
them (Jessica?) dedicated her sing-along
karaoke song to me
22nd (Sunday) [Thurlow, looking North]
Nice talk with Ya Jing this morning. Told me
I looked younger than my age. Skytrain to
Lougheed Mall this afternoon. The summer trees
were lovely in the sunshine, a few scattered
clouds in the sky. Girl with a gentle,
attractive face sitting across the aisle,
feet up, back against the window, long
fingernails with a little silver sparkle on the
tips
23rd (Monday) [Thurlow, looking North]
Strata meeting outside on the roof, at a round
table. Pleasant evening sun, cool breeze
24th (Tuesday) [Thurlow, looking North]
Talking Agnes Chow. 'Lay ho mah?' 'Long time no
see'... On the terrace at Robson Market made a
rather interesting acquaintence, Chris, from
London, Ont. Told me he sensed I was an artist,
& asked if I knew Anne Hale. 'Yeah, I knew
Anne 15 years ago.' 'Were you going out with
her?' Baeta brought a couple of photos of her
as a DJ in Korea. Told me she brought them
because she thought I'd come by. Told her I
wanted to do a portrait of her, could I take a
few photos sometime? She said okay. Sunny day
with a nice breeze. 10:30 this evening, the
sky is a lovely deep blue
25th (Wednesday) [Thurlow, looking North]
Myle explaining how she got out of wearing the
pink dress, & wants to get down to 99 lbs before
her next trip to Hong Kong. Germany/Turkey
