Great hockey from Boston this morning. Canucks 4/
Bruins 3. Dark, wet weather continues

8th (Sunday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Some nice drama from Denver, Broncos/Steelers o/t. Eve
telling me she's almost certainly visiting Borneo in
Feb/Mar. Insisted to her that she bring back the recipe
for python soup. Reading 'Boomerang' at Urban Fare, at
the cozy corner table, as the rain poured down outside

9th (Monday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Reanne telling me how her grandmother used to tell her
ghost stories in Trinidad. Encouraged her, the next
time she visits there, to do a video. Started another
version of the seahorse yesterday, she told me, &
cleaned & taped the sheets of glass I gave her last
month. A certain Oriental girl at Sinclair with a
lovely face. A portrait, perhaps?

10th (Tuesday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Telling Reanne that her description of shooting arrows
into the forest, inspired an idea for a drawing. Told me
she was pretending to be Shera, who was Hercules sister
Had a nice little discussion too, of exotic ideas for
bathroom design. Crossing the street at Davie & Burrard,
a car horn honked a couple of times. Looked up & it was
Linda G at the wheel of her car. Was discussing with
Reanne yesterday about asking her to participate in the
2012 photo project. Lovely winter sunshine this
afternoon

11th (Wednesday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Laura showing me how to use Microsoft Word to create
pages for Stardust. Promised her a paper bag stuffed with
cash, somewhere in the future

12th (Thursday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Reanne photographing my hand holding open my watch with
the cracked crystal. Tea with Chisato at Urban Fare early
this evening, who is looking for a new place to stay

13th (Friday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Borrowed Reannes watercolour pencils. Used the black one
to outline the seahorse in the drawing. Dropped in on
Eve in Yaletown. Going to Dressew & Opus tomorrow, to
buy supplies for her latest project, she told me. Wants
to see the seahorse when it's finished

14th (Saturday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Walking along Nicola when a car pulled alongside, slowed
down & then stopped. It was Linda again! Had a great little
conversation for 10 minutes or so. She's still living in
Stanley Park Manor, & planning to film old people who live
there, reminiscing about past events, 'before they croak',
she told me. At Safeway on Robson, made eye contact with
the checker a few registers down. She smiled & waved. It
was Armita! Chatted for a bit & promised to drop by next
week. Some nice drama from Candlestick, 49ers 36/ Saints 32

15th (Sunday)   [Seahorse as a Dimension of Time]
Eve telling me she's going on holiday for 3 weeks near
the end of February. Plans to visit bat caves in
Malaya, & see orangutans & an alligator farm in Borneo
Reanne thinking about visiting San Fransisco in the
next couple of months. Oriental woman at Anna Sui came
over as we were talking. Looked up the date of the
Chinese New Year on her little calendar, which was the
22nd or 23rd, Year of the Dragon. She's from Canton,
she told me, and has a nice, friendly demeanour

16th (Monday)
Snowfall overnight. Met Hanna on Davie, who described
to me her visit to Cuba, & Las Vegas

18th (Wednesday)
Reanne telling me her seahorse should be finished by
next Tuesday, & that it's principal colors were black,
white, & blue

19th (Thursday)
Met Chisato at Donburi to give her a photo of the
portrait. Put it in the box she was mailing to her
parents in Hokkaido, & then helped her to tape it shut
Walked with her to the Japanese grocery where she
mailed it. The desk of the 'postman' with an Ichiro
bobblehead, with inflated Japanese airliners hanging
from the ceiling above. Teenburgers at A&W on Alberni,
& then back out into the chilly night

23rd (Monday)
Met the Vietnamese girl from Joyeaux on Howe, & had
a charming little conversation. Besides being the
Chinese New Year, it was her birthday as well. Told me
she was a Horse, & that Year of the Dragon would be a
good year for Horses (meaning money). Told her I'd
bring her something this week. Her name is Linh
Talked to Iram, in the Temple, for the first time in
weeks. Showed her the Seahorse, & she descibed a sort
of philosophy of mirrors, which she has on the wall in
front of her bed, behind doors

24th (Tuesday)
Reanne back at work, telling me she spent three days
cleaning her apt, throwing out 8 garbage bags of stuff
... Showing Seahorse to Minako, while outside it was
dark, & pouring rain like a monsoon
