15th (Tuesday)
Myle calls from the lobby of the Hotel Vancouver,
just before 10am, waiting for Louis Vuitton to
open. Talking to KiYeon on the phone
16th (Wednesday) [Girl from Jinwi Village Post Office] collage
Myle in some sort of mysterious discomfort. Telling me
about the Louis Vuitton handbag, which she picked up
yesterday at Hotel Vancouver. Eating sushi at Robson
Market, with Kiyeon. Some lovely winter sunshine on
the highrise apartments. When we went outside it was
chilly & damp, with a lovely sort of 'afterglow' of
silver light in the southern sky
17th (Thursday) [Girl from Jinwi Village Post Office] collage
Myle in tears this morning about something the store
manager said. 'Did you hear that?' she asked, turning
her neck. 'I just started work, & I'm cracking already.'
Late this evening a flash of lightening, hail and heavy rain
18th (Friday) [Girl from Jinwi Village Post Office] collage
Eve telling me how much she likes the portraits
19th (Saturday)
Did some extra work on the portrait, finished off the
collages, & started the web pages. Almost forgot Myle's
birthday, & had to scramble a little to cover up. Talking
to Natalie at the Bay. Can't believe I didn't notice she
was pregnant last week. Telling me if it's a boy, the
name will be Liam. Korean dinner on Robson with Kiyeon
Walked along English Bay with her, past Douglas House,
and then tea at Delaney's. She had a lot on her mind
today, thinking about her family in Korea. Below zero
this evening
