21st (Wednesday)
Heavy rain this morning. From the
foot of Burrard, freighters in mist,
red harbour lights flashing slowly
Brunch with Andrea. Showed her 'Wedding
Portrait'. Fairly intelligent remarks
Thought the mouse should be darker. On
Granville Island, complimented the
Chinese girl on her earring. 'Thank you
VERY much,' she replied

22nd (Thursday)
More HEAVY rain. Fixed things up with
Jenn. Photo session back on in 2 weeks
Told me she's very interested in
ancient Egyptian culture

23rd (Friday)   [RC Cola]
Great visit with the girl in the hat
shop. Talked about, amongst other
things, Coronation St, WWF Wrestling,
diabetes, & God. Her one fear is
being abducted by aliens

24th (Saturday)   [RC Cola]
Beautiful sunset, pinks, blues, & a
rainbow

25th (Sunday)   [RC Cola]
Great Super Bowl game. Interesting
talk with girl who works with Risako

her great-aunt, Texas Guinane, who
operated a drinking establishment
in New York during prohibition

Animated descriptions of scenes
from Coronation St from Trish

birthdays are one day apart
'We're both Aquarius,' she said

Risako remembered birthday. Treated
with sourdough buns & slices of ham
'Expressionist' girl was a charm too

7th (Saturday)   [RC Cola]
Treated by Shari at Elbow Room Cafe
on Davie. Had this huge blackberry/
banana pancake that hung an inch
over the plate. Walking down
Granville, pushing Eliza in
stroller. At one point she exclaims
'I smell pot!'

8th (Sunday) [RC Cola]
Enjoyable lunch at White Rock this
afternoon with Annie & Lawrence
Shane & Darlene there as well
Showed photos of large drawings. At
one point Rita said, 'Let me get
this straight. The mouse is a
metaphor for her passion,' and then
added that 'she looks mean'
Beautiful rough ocean at Crescent
Beach

9th (Monday)
Great talk with Shelagh! Very
happy with the enlargement of
'Odyssey', which she framed & hung
within a day. Talked about another
version of 'Urban Desert Winds',
which she's willing to model for,
holding a white cat

10th (Tuesday)
Saw 'Titantic' this afternoon with
Risako, and Meechie, who was crying
at the end. Dropped into the hat
shop this morning. As I was leaving
Trish said to me, 'Do you remember
my name?' I told her, 'Trish, short
for Patricia,' which seemed to
satisfy her. Telling me about her
relationship with a guy named Sam

11th (Wednesday)
Beautiful rainbow about four this
afternoon. Formed an arc over
Harbour Centre, one end of it
touching down behind the rooftop
balustrade of the old CPR Station

12th (Thursday)
Andrea's comment about an NBA
player ordering breakfast, & then
coming back for a sandwich
Developed the outline for the
drawing, which has a title now
'Memorandum on the Immortality of
Youth'
