So I was planning to start a portrait of my friend
Eve last Thursday. Then I saw your latest profile pic
Your profile shots are always fabulous, but this one
is like STUNNING! and i knew I could do an amazing
portrait version. So I started your portrait instead
Should be finished the middle of the month
The two collage prints I did a year ago. Was hoping I
could give them to you in person. It would have been
fun to discuss all the ways they could be
misinterpreted. The Diamond Ovum print is basically
a metaphor for Artist/Muse. The Voodoo Lounge
is poking a little fun at the Stones 'official store'. Mick
never gets tired of making a buck. The skeletons are
from the inside sleeve of the Voodoo Lounge double

For me, this portrait sort of evoke those lines from
Springsteen, 'Tell me what I see when I look in your
eyes Is that you,baby or just a brilliant disguise?'
Whatever it is, I only wish you could be in all my art

4th (Monday)
Work on webpages. Had a dream with Reanne in
it this morning, & late this evening while
watching 'When You're Strange', checked Fran's
Facebook. She had changed her profile pic, &
it was a direct response to the 'Solar Queen'
prints I sent. No doubt. Decided to do a
portrait of her, starting Wednesday, rather
than the one of Eve I had planned. The power
of a Muse I suppose
5th (Tuesday)
Chatting with Radka in the lobby, who's
coming over on Thursday to see the Stardust
drawings. Text from Eve, [Sat 23rd I'll be
over at Commercial again if you want to meet
up when I'm done work] 'For sure.' [[We can
go to the herb shop first before it closes
then get food] Bought paper for the portrait
Clear skies this afternoon, & pleasantly cool
6th (Wednesday) [Victoria's English Gothic Gypsy Queen]
Swung by the Chinese herbalist place of Robson
to see Jenny. Who gave me some lovely prints &
helped translate some kanji with the help of her
co-worker. Bone-chilling, damp, cold, with a
sprinkling of rain & wet snow
7th (Thursday) [Victoria's English Gothic Gypsy Queen]
Showing Radka drawings from the Stardust book
Loved the scenes of English Bay & Hastings St
Also showing her the outline of the portrait, &
explaining the connection between the 'Solar Queen'
prints & her latest profile pic on Facebook. At one
point, as I'm standing in front of the drawing I
sort of sigh, & say, 'God I love that woman...'
