Fran So I think of this portrait as being
a companion piece to the 'Empress of the Orient'
drawing I did of you seven years ago
The source of the pattern at the bottom
& sides was from the base of a street
lantern in San Fransisco's Chinatown that
I photographed back in the day. And the
dragons belong to something called 'The
Bridge of Dragons', in Slovenia of all places
You don't notice it in the photo, but the gold
areas glitter if you look at them from the
right angle
The other shot was taken pre-dawn, the morning
after I finished the portrait, from my 'reading'
chair it's kinda nice to look up from
the page of a book to see YOU! :) 'cause no one
does compare to you
[Well I couldn't wait unti I got home so I am
currently pulled over on the side of the road
looking at this magnificent masterpiece you have
created. I love every inch of it, you smashed it
out of the park!!! Absolutely gorgeous and a
fabulous addition to the Empress piece. I am blown
away, I adore the colours you've chosen, the
lettering and the theme are just perfect!!! Thank
you from the bottom of my heart for including me in
another masterpiece it's stunning!!! It
transports me to another place and time, it's
magical!!!]

will be a little quieter than usual. The shots you

Liked the Oriental colours & theme, and
was intrigued by the dragons. Gave her one
of the Ibuprofens, as she told me she was
having her period & was in a bit of
discomfort
