Woodward's Building
Originally built as a department store in 1903,
the Woodward's Building is a historic site in the
Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. The Woodward's
Redevelopment Project was a major revitalisation &
renewal project for the area
The bright red "W" perched on an Eiffel Tower
replica atop the store would act as a beacon for
retail shoppers. It guided them around Christmas
time and it soon became tradition for families to
come downtown just to peek through the frost-dusted
holiday window displays. The "W" was as much a part
of the Vancouver skyline as the old Sun Tower or the
North Shore mountains
Port of Spain
Officially the City of Port of Spain, is the capital
of Trinidad & Tobago and the third largest
municipality, after Chaguanas and San Fernando. The
city has a municipal population of 37,074, an urban
population of 81,142, and a transient daily
population of 250,000

Tea with Reanne at JJBeans on Cordova, was wonderful
in every way. The girl is SO special

Texted Reanne, 'Photographed your artwork this
afternoon. Wow! The linework on your Phoenix is
sublime!' 'Btw, u inspired an idea for the Van Gogh
homage. Gonna start it tomorrow' She replied, [Oh
thanks Richard. I'm so excited to see ur work]
Nice to see the last Minnesota Viking playoff game
outdoors in the subzero, evoking old memories
'Midnight in Paris' this evening, thinking of Reanne

Texted Reanne, 'Happy Birthday Reanne!!' 'Know this
will be your healing year cause 32 is a beautiful
number!' She texted back, [Oh thank u Richard! I
believe so too]
14th (Thursday) [Girl from Port-of-Spain]
Texted Reanne with an update on the drawing
[Amazing!!!] she replied
19th (Tuesday)
Tea with Reanne at Blenz for 3+ hrs. Showed her
the drawing of course [Rad!] & talked about
everything from art to astronomy to Minori. After
tea had Chinese food at Tinseltown
26th (Tuesday)
Texted Reanne around noon, 'Got the prints back of
the drawing. Do u want to see them this week?' She
texted back just before midnight, [I'd love to see
them! U free tomorrow?]
27th (Wednesday)
Tea with Reanne at Blenz for over 2 hrs. She
looked striking as usual, wearing an LA baseball
hat & a t-shirt with the Abbey Road cover. Talked
over dozens of things, & she agreed with the mask
idea for 'The Politics of the Mind'

25th (Friday)
Lovely conversation with Reanne over tea, at Tim
Hortons on Pender. Thinking of all that was said,
& what was to come, as I contemplated the clouds
drifting slowly through the lovely autumn sky
