evening, not just wet but 'noisy' wet
against the window. The perfect weather
for creating art. So I started
putting in the archway of the portal
yesterday. The idea is to have a stained
old concrete arch which will make a nice
contrast with all the dazzle & light
underneath it. I could make the arch
more elaborate, but I don't want it
competing or distracting from the main
theme. After all the musing on this idea
over the years, it feels fabulous to be
actually working on it! which I have you
to thank cuz u are fabulous!! The spirit
of this drawing is definitely in you
And I hope you've been feeling well
enough to do some writing, which is
brilliant and I can never get enough of!

[Richard it was the same over here,
even driving home from work yesterday
was a bit dicey because the rain was
thundering down. It was totally magical
and reminded me of how powerful Mother
Nature truly is
I love what you are doing with the
archway, it's going to be a beautiful
contrast against the sparkle. I really
love how you've always drawn me you
always manage to make me beautiful!
You are fabulous too Richard, you are
making your idea come to life and that
is some special manifestation!
The flu needle hurt more than the
covid one and I've woken up with a
very sore left arm and an aching body
I'm still going to go to work and see
how far I can make it thru the day. I'm
just so grateful for vaccine though,
and grateful that it is free. I promise
I'll go to a store and get bear spray

I'm hoping Fran, that sore left arm
of yours is feeling better :) Every
morning I get up I'm wishing you an
easy day at work with minimal lifting
and a creative, relaxing evening. But
most of all I'm wishing for you to
get that office job. I have faith
that it'll happen soon, and that
you'll be feeling SO much better!!
So work on the archway is coming
along nicely. I've started on the
lettering at the top, and hope to
send you a progress pic tomorrow
with the finished title. I have an
idea about adding something to
either side of the title I'll
describe to you tomorrow after
you've seen the pic. And speaking
of photos, I finished the collage of
our Saturna trip, and took it in
yesterday to get the print made
I'll send it out to you on Monday by
UPS. Still can't believe how
perfectly magical that adventure

Fran, I hate to hear you're in
such discomfort :( I'm guessing
it's a reaction to those flu
shots. But whatever it is
doesn't have a chance against
your defiance! I'm looking at
the outline now, and there is
definitely an element of
defiance there, with everything
else, in your fabulous pose! So
the title is in at the top of
the drawing, and I'll finish
off the archway today. I'm
thinking of adding a touch of
graffiti to the arch on the
left, and some bit of an
ancient cave drawing on the
other side. The idea being to
to represent art present & past,
with the Rothko work at the
nucleus of the atom, under the
archway between them. Maybe
even a few Egyptian
hieroglyphics. What do you
think?
So I was too tired to leave the
apt yesterday, but I'll pick up
the Saturna print today for sure
And I would love to photograph
you, and explore all the Gulf
Islands together, next spring/
summer/fall :)! For right now,
this moment in time, sending
you vibes of healing,
inspiration, and all the autumn
colours, w/love & affection!!

[Richard I absolutely love your
graffiti and cave drawing idea, it
acts as a tie between the quantum
leaps. I absolutely love Egyptian
hieroglyphics! I was told by a
psychic medium that I came from
ancient Egypt
I'm sorry you're so tired, no
rush on the Saturna prints
whatsoever. The most important
thing is you rest up!! I would
love to explore all the islands
with you. We could start in the
spring and do some research in
the meantime. I'm blown away
with how the masterpiece is
coming along, I utterly adore it
Richard!! I promise to send you
some well thought out words to
accompany the comet. I might
even write a poem about it. I've
sort of hit a writer's block for
poetry but am hoping to come out

Fran, happy to report the Saturna
print has turned out fabulous :)!
I'm thinking I absolutely would
love to do collage prints, with you,
of every one of the main Gulf
Islands: Salt Spring, Pender, Mayne,
and of course Saturna every year
Anyway, I'm going to enjoy this
print one more afternoon and send it
to you UPS tomorrow
And yes, I agree with the psychic
that you have some spiritual
connection with the past. I could
sense that the first time I sat
across from you at the Subway. You
radiate a special sort of magic!
and it comes through in every
portrait
Quantum is coming along nicely, and
I will definitely work in the

drawing you sent! Is that the
Egyptian entity Ra? I can't
remember exactly what it
symbolized, but I'm pretty sure
I've included it in one of my
drawings from the past. I'll
through my old 'Egyptian' prints
and see if I can find it. I
always believed you had a talent
for graphic art. Please send me

So yesterday was spent filling in,
with charcoal, some of the black
area under the archway More of
the same today, and then after
that it gets really interesting

Fran, hoping to hear you've slept
in today, and that you're healing
& re-energizing every day in this
our favourite season I'm
loving these long, quiet evenings,
and at this point in time my days
are beginning at midnight,
Picasso-style
So I'm starting work on the atom/
electron/nucleus part of Quantum
today, and the drawing is about to
start coming alive, a little bit
like the beginning of a nuclear
chain reaction. Hopefully it'll
come together nicely :). And I'm
hoping you get a chance to finish
