September 30
Fran hi, started a new
portrait of you a
couple of days ago.
It's a large format
work (44"x72") & you
look totally striking!

Fran hi, sending you a
pic of your latest
portrait to your
facebook today. Btw is
your birthday this
month? Hope I didn't
miss it
Can't believe how quickly
this came together for a
large format drawing! One
of the few drawings I've
done where the scale is
larger than 1x. If you were
to stand up in the drawing,
in a manner of speaking,
you would be eight feet
high. But then, you are kind
of larger than life.
Wow! Those Victoria shots
were amazing! Two large
format drawings [Sugar
Plum & Victoria Portrait],
3 portraits, and about 10
collages. You inspire me
& bring out the best in me
as an artist. I have a
couple of new ideas for
large format drawings.
Hope we can get together
again before too long
[Wow Richard, I look like
I'm about to get up & throttle
the life out of someone, I
love it!! Very dramatic
Thank you so much, you are
an incredible artist!!]
I like the way you left the cord
plugged in.... power surge

Talking briefly to Myle this morning, as she headed

First ride through Stanley Park this autumn. Showed
Rose Ngyuen 'Karl Marx', the 'Amex' pastel, & a
couple of portraits. Learned that she was born on a
refugee boat from Vietnam & has travelled
extensively through Asia. Showing her the portraits,
she flippantly said, 'You should do one of me... Just
kidding.' Said I would love to do one, & asked her
to think about what she would like as a background
29th (Thursday) [The Victoria Portrait]
Text from Fran this morning, [Richard, they are
fantastic!! I love them thank you so much!!] Talked

charming, told me she was taking 3 months off as a
rest from retail
