Shab working this morning. Had
just submitted her application
to UBC, & was unusally upbeat
That was nice to see. Suggested
she rent 'My Architect'. Said
to throw off 'good vibes' for
her next time I was at UBC
Myle describing an argument
with her older sister, her
arrogant attitude towards her,
& that the sister had slapped
her once & Myle had punched
her back
23rd (Thursday)
Walking south along Denman
at dusk, a dark grey bank of
cloud on the horizon, edged
with pink. Dark blue sky,
flashy neon colour along the
street. At English Bay the
water shimmering silver/blue,
Bowen Island all wreathed in
dark mists, a green light
flashing slowly, off & on
Gift from Myle this morning
27th (Monday)
Pure winter sunlight. Burnaby
Library with Shari. Chow mein
& chicken legs at a small
place named after Buddha. Two
girls working there : Oriental
: with the smile of an angel :
European, beautiful, with
lovely hands, black letter
tatoo on a forearm. Trains
passing high above, S
remarking on the gloom
expressed in the faces going
past, though they don't have
a tsunami to worry about
Dollar store on Commercial, &
then S meets a Polish girl,
Veronica, who once lived at
Station Point. Shari waves
bye at Main. Standing with
Veronica, talking, as the
escalator carried us up -
these images, & an image
from the past, enhanced, &
more deeply understood
later this evening

Shari leaves a message, that
she heard a thought on the
radio, something about sheeps
wool shrinking in the rain
Stretched paper for the
'Buddha' drawing, which Shari
suggested I not start till
the New Year
