hall, from Southern Alberta. Walking with
her to Davie & Bute. I think she said her

Remarkable sunset: the fog bank over the
water of English Bay, radiant orange, by
the sun just above the horizon. Girl & a
guy jogging down Chilco to get a shot
before the sunset. At the beach, as
beautiful as I've seen: cool, misty winter
air, heavy fog on the water, some blue sky,
some orange sky, sparkling city lights; &
a girl standing motionless at the edge of
the water, seeming mesmerized; a white
terrier, anything but still, careless of
it all

then dropped in at the Law Courts, & caught
the last half hour of Shari's confrontation
with Vince Orchard, which she'd talked about
for 2 years. Highly entertaining & a little
surreal

Sandwich, soup, & Coke with Shari, at the
cafe on Granville that exhibits photography
& art, after the morning in court

Super Bowl at Majuba. Lots of rain this weekend

Came home to find 8 messages on the answering
machine. Learned that Shari had a bizarre
weekend that included someone named Eddie
moving in with her, & a wedding date set for
today

Dropped in on Roula this morning. What a
special sort of woman she is! Photographed
art work this afternoon, & then visited
Shari at Comox Ward, St Paul's. A poignant
sort of experience, the kind you don't forget
