June 12/99
Dear. Richard. B.
How are you? I was glad to hear from you. Now I'm getting
used to new our life and new job (as a dental hygienist). Nagoya
is also big city, so it's convenient for me. There are many original
cultures which are sometimes curious custom for the people who
live in Tokyo!
What a quite change!! My orange julius is changed! I think
it's cute but too much color... I wish they had used only
one color (ex. gray or yellow) on chairs... Anyway I miss there!
Your works are good, aren't they? You have a wonderful
talent about art. "FACTORY GIRL" this drawing is
realistical description. It looks like a photo! And about
series Fuji. I prefer "WINTER FUJI". It seems it has more Japanese
sense than another one. I look at Mt. Fuji beginning of this
year on the way home from my parent's house. It was so
beautiful!!! In that season many Japanese people gather at
trees at cherry blossom. Those photos are last year in April.
They are my friends who lived in Vancouver when I spent there.
And another photo I was wearing "KIMONO (actually we call YUKATA)".
This YUKATA was made by my grand mother. Do you notice a
girl next to me? She is my college friend, also dental hygienist.
She's going to go to Vancouver from 28th June to the end of
September!! At first she will stay at Hosteling in downtown
(1114 Burnaby St.) After 18th July, she is planning to join
the volunteer group. But it is first time she goes to Vancouver,
so she doesn't know about there... Then I'm glad that you
will be a friend to her if she contacts with you.
I thought I was sorry I gave your address to her without
your permission... She is very nice person. She teaches
English to kindergarten children in Japan so she is good at speaking
English. In fact she knows your drawing and photos. I showed
them!!
I'm looking forward to looking your works every time.
I hope it comes a time I spend in Vancouver again...
Take care, Yuko. M.
*p.s. My friend "Kaori" she is working at business hotel, she is fine!
And "Tomoko Unno" she is going to go to Vancouver. Please remember!!
