[Yay for the cozy autumn day
Richard! You've filled me with so
much hope for the day it's going
to be a great one today! And a great
week too. I'm so excited for our next
adventure to Saltspring. I do hope I
get good news about the job this
week yesterday I pulled some
tarot cards for myself and one of
them told me to wait and be patient
and that the universe is working to
make everything align for me. Thank
you so much for encouraging my
poetry, that means so much to me!!

Fran, so just this morning I've had
a bit of an epiphany relating to
the drawing. During all the years the
idea was in my head, and even as I
started work on it, I wasn't thinking
too much in terms of metaphors. It
was strictly visual. But as the
nebula filled in behind you it began
to feel like a stellar nursery,
birthplace of stars. So the nebula
could be thought of as being
symbolic of all the art ever created
The world, or universe, of Art. And
the atom is symbolic of a single
work of art; and the nebula is
essentially an immense collecton of
atoms. (You could describe this
much more poetically than me)
Anyway, another couple of days work
on the nebula and the drawing takes
a quantum leap forward when I start
work on the heart of this drawing,
which is you! I'm thinking it has
the potential to be legendary, and
that next year could be our breakout
Year (of the Horse)
For now though, I'm wishing with all
my heart that you get some good
news later in the week!! Sending you
an even flow of healing vibes, with
comfort, confidence & love!!!
[Richard I absolutely love the
epiphany of the stellar birthplace
and the nebula symbolic as all the
art ever created :) it is so
magical!! I have a feeling we are
going to travel new dimensions next
year! We are going to creatively
open ourselves up into new
possibilities!!

Awesome! And ironically your magic
is about to come alive on the
drawing too. If the nebula and
nucleus atom are metaphors for Art,
in this drawing you are the
metaphor for the inspiration to
create Art. The ultimate, forever
Muse!!

Fran, according to my calendar
today is the day of the New Moon
What fabulous timing! You receive
the great news and right away we
enter a new phase. And I'm
thinking the next four weeks are
gonna feel even more epic :) So
today I'm finishing off work on
the nebula and tomorrow starting
work on the real star of this
drawing, which would be you
Btw, I loved your observations
about the winter trees. You have
the eyes & soul of a true poet
I love to photograph trees this
time of year, against the
wintry skies. I took some shots
like that along Davie at dawn
awhile back that I'll edit and
send to your email this weekend

Fran, TGIF! and not much more
than a month till you start the
new job :) Promise me though,
that you'll be xtra careful and
not injure yourself in any way
these last few weeks. After
that it's clear sailing
Speaking of clear sailing, the
drawing is moving ahead
beautifully. The nebula is
finished, more or less, and
it's looking great. And your
pose is magnificent! If I do
my job as an artist this
drawing is gonna totally knock
their sox off!! And I'll make
sure when it's finished, that we
get the exposure we deserve
Something I haven't bothered
with in the past, but I'll take
the time (in Year of the Horse)
to figure out how that stuff
works. For now sending you

Fran, I have a good feeling these
next few weeks of this new phase,
the poetry will flow out of you!
And I can't wait to read it and
hear it; and see it too because
I'm hoping you add some work to
that sketch pad that you have!!
On this side of the water, the
drawing has reached a point where
it's about to come alive, in a
manner of speaking. There's no
term in art to describe this,
but in nuclear physics they call
it reaching critical mass. This
drawing seems to radiate a
certain energy I've never felt
coming from a work of art
Anyway, I'll take a deep breath
right now and focus on getting
it right today

Fran, I'm hoping that kitty of
yours is allowing you to get
your beauty rest this morning. If
it needs someone to engage with,
my sleep disorder has entered a
new phase and I'm available at
all hours of the day & night
It's like I'm slowly turning
into Keith Richards! The good
news is that during the 24hr
cycle I do get 2 or 3 hrs of
really deep sleep during which
it would take an earthquake to
arouse me. Sleep issues
notwithstanding, the drawing is
sailing along beautifully! Your
lovely engaging eyes, and half
your face is finished. I'll do
the rest today and send you the
progress pic tomorrow
