28th (Thursday)
A nice discussion with Eve about the art projects
Told me she once dressed in mint green, 'From head
to foot,' including a petticoat, & how everyone on
skytrain was staring. Had a good idea for creating
a strait jacket & other suggestions for 'The
Politics of the Mind'. Said to her, 'I should do a
portrait of you wearing a pirate hat.' Very
impressed with her. UBC this afternoon selecting an
image for Chisato's portrait, & project schedule
for August, & pondering a little math diagram

29th (Friday)   [Girl from the Northern Japanese Island
of Hokkaido] 'What the Bleep!? Down the Rabbit Hole'   Good start
on the portrait. Text late last night saying she was
coming down with a fever. Didn't hear from her today

30th (Saturday)   [Girl from the Northern Japanese Island
of Hokkaido] Tokyo girl, and Yajing helping out with the Kanji on
the portrait. Gave Sachiyo her celery. Showed me all
the little burns on her forearms from work, & a fairly
large bruise. Looking forward to the gay parade
tomorrow, she told me

August
1st (Monday)   [Girl from the Northern
Japanese Island of Hokkaido]
Perfect sunny morning & afternoon, with a nice breeze
Good to be through July & into August

2nd (Tuesday)   [Girl from the Northern
Japanese Island of Hokkaido]
Very good day of work on the drawing. Texts from
Chisato, no word from Myle

3rd (Wednesday)   [Girl from the Northern
Japanese Island of Hokkaido]
Bianca telling me she wanted to go to the dessert buffet
at Hotel Vancouver. Texted Myle with the info. She texted
back three times, saying how tired & sore she still is
Tea with Chisato at Library Square Blenz

4th (Thursday)   [Girl from the Northern Japanese Island

of Hokkaido]
Talked to Reanne, first time since she returned
from Toronto. Filled me in with the latest details
of her wedding plans, which are very creative & unique
Promised her more cake, & an old pop bottle or two
(which she needs as part of the decoration for the
wedding.) Clear, & rather hot this evening

5th (Friday)
Showed girl from Okinawa some of the portraits, & gave
her the four 'Fuji Seasons'. Rewarded with the most
lovely little smile. Her name is Aya. Wonderful little
visit to White Rock this evening with Chisato. Finally
able to show her Mt. Baker, which was a lovely pink &
white in the light of the setting sun

6th (Saturday)
In the bright sun & crowds midafternoon at Davie &
Denman, heard my name called. All of a sudden there was
Risako, who I hadn't seen for 5 or 6 years. She's living
in Kits at Burrard & 11th, & is recently divorced, she
told me. Looking forward to hopefully resuming our
friendship. Working on the website all day
