Looking back at 2025:
It began with the Mexican still-life. Years ago my aunt gave me this little Mexican doll that she'd
picked up at a garage sale or someplace, and for years I'd wanted to create some still-life composition around
it. I'd purchased a Halloween skull to use in The Pirate Queen, and I had this sombrero I'd bought at a thrift
store, and it finally clicked. I picked up a candle & the noise-making gizmo at the Mexican store on Davie, and
it all came together nicely
After that it was basically the Year of Frangelica, starting with Aphrodites Heelz & ending with the Quantum
Portrait. The later was especially satisfying, as I'd had that basic idea for at least 10 years, and it turned
out better than I could have imagined. Add to that The Pirate Queen, and the Box Sets of Fran's poetry, and
writing, in Frangelica's Verses
Apart from the work with Fran, I added a lot of photographs to The Portfolio Collection. I still totally enjoy
taking & editing photographs. And nothing bothers me more than thinking of all the shots I've missed over the
years. Such is life. All we can do is make the best of what's still around
This year I'm hoping to do at least four large format drawings with Fran, starting with Salacia of Saturna
Between working on drawings, I'm hoping to photographs areas of the city I haven't been around in years
